INFRASTRUCTURE FRAME MIRROR
INFRASTRUCTURE FRAME MIRROR
20” x 24” x 4.5”
BLACK CLAY SODA FIRED STONEWARE
ONE OF A KIND
MADE IN THE SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS, CALIFORNIA
The Infrastructure Frame Mirror is handcrafted from black stoneware and soda fired, a process that produces subtle atmospheric variations across the ceramic surface. Each firing leaves unique shifts in texture, tone, and mineral deposits, ensuring that every piece is one of a kind.
Inspired by the structural language of the Williamsburg Bridge, the mirror explores depth, and construction through a substantial ceramic form. A recessed mirror is held within an integrated ceramic framework, revealing the infrastructure of the object rather than concealing it. The softened geometry and visible internal supports create a quiet balance between architectural precision and the organic character of hand-built clay.
Equal parts functional mirror and sculptural object, the Infrastructure Frame reflects the studio's ongoing exploration of material transformation, architectural form, and contemporary ceramics.
